BEHAVIOUR RULES IN THE MOUNTAIN AREA

  • Choose the suitable route for the weakest member of the team (physical, psychical and technical speaking)
  • Be equipped properly. Choose the gear, the materials and the food necessary, having in view also the special conditions you may be in
  • The owner of the chalet must be announced of your departure. Inform yourself about the route you are following.
  • Inform the owner of the chalet about the route you intend to follow; and write down your name in the Tourist Traffic Register
  • Start early, and be sure you have the proper equipment and the map of the area
  • Don't go by yourself.
  • Don't force yourself and respect the rules for a proper hygiene and effort diet
  • Don't drink alcohol before and during the trip
  • Use only marked routes. Don't leave the marked paths
  • Don't wear down the touristic arrangements, the marks and pointers
  • Respect and protect the mountain; don't leave any "print" on your way
  • Respect the natural monuments and the protected areas
  • Be prepare to give the first aid to tourists in need
  • In case you get lost , don't leave the group. Keep yourself awake and conscious. Keep moving to prevent hypothermia. Don't drink alcohol. Call the Mountain Rescue Team.
  • The mountain sportspeople must respect the rules told by Mountain Rescue teams.
  • Inquire yourself about the GSM signals in the area you go into

THE ALARM SIGNALS IN A MOUNTAIN AREA ARE :

  • Six (6) acoustic (or light) signals per minute, every 10 seconds each, then one minute break.
  • The response signal contains three (3) signals per minute, with one minute break.
  • Even if your alarm signal has been received, keep signal until a mountain rescue team reaches you
  • You may ask for help even by tourists or by other means: the nearest chalet, shelter, canton, sheepfold, settlement.

IMPORTANT!

The rescue call must contain :

- the place of the accident

- the number of the victims

- the date and the hour of the accident

- the assumed diagnostic

- the weather conditions

- the personal data of the person who is making the call

 

The way you must make the call:

  • Call 112 or 0 - SALVAMONT (0725 826 668)
  • Give your personal data and the phone number the call is made
  • Give some information about the accident: the location, the nature of the accident, the number of the victims, the clinical status, the hour the accident took place
  • Wait for the confirmation
Stay near the phone for additional information or instructions
